2022 Sounds Summer Slam Spearfishing Comp

9 December 2022

After a hiatus in 2021, the Stoned-Em Sounds Summer Slam Spearfishing Competition finally returned over the weekend – bigger and better than ever.

The competition started by Stoned-Em crew members, Sam Murray and Lee Dobson in 2017, has drawn big numbers since its inception. With a focus on variety of species over weight, species which make for great eating, and looking after the marine environment, the comp is highly regarded across the region and wider New Zealand.

This year, Marine and Outdoors proudly collaborated with Stoned-Em crew to host the weigh in and put forward the major spot prize of a Stabicraft 1450 Explorer, Yamaha, DMW boat/motor/trailer package valued at $35k.

Congratulations to the 300+ legends who took part in a record breaking comp and of course a big shout out to the Stoned-Em crew for organising such an epic event!
